Lead Pastor, Rev. Shawn Wallace

Shawn grew up in Ithaca, NY and is thankful for his Christian heritage and for a beautiful place to enjoy nature.  His Sophomore year at Nyack college he met Heather and one week after her graduation, they were married in 1996.  Soon after they began in youth ministry in 1997 and the same year they had their first child.  Shawn and Heather have 4 children and have also been in ministry together ever since in New York, Ohio, Malawi, Africa, South Sudan, Africa, Kenya, Africa, and now currently here in Washington DC.  Shawn’s original call to being a pastor came when he felt God asking him to be a part of helping the bride of Christ become a more beautiful representation of Jesus and he has been privileged to be a part of that calling ever since. “Having been transformed by God’s grace, what better thing could I do with my days than to help others know that same grace”.  When not being with family or doing ministry Shawn enjoys sports of all kinds, fishing, hiking, and gardening.

Associate Pastor, Rev. Lane McIntyre

Lane grew up in a Christian home in the Washington, DC area attending a Christian & Missionary Alliance church in Arlington, VA.  As a senior in high school he felt God calling him to share the Gospel with people groups who had no church in their culture. To get equipped to do that he attended Wheaton College, studying Bible and Political Science, and then attended seminary at Columbia International University, where he double majored in Intercultural Studies and Teaching English as a Foreign Language. With his credentials in TEFL he has taught and worked in a dozen countries around the world in Central Asia, East Asia, the Middle East and Europe.  Lane met his wife Bonnie while guest preaching at a church where she was leading worship.  He quickly felt she was a kindred spirit in life and ministry.  They got married and have built a home where ministry and service are a part of everyday life for them and their four children.  Lane was a youth pastor in Arlington for four years, and has been a pastor at WIC since 1994.  He enjoys music, travel, skiing, coaching sports teams and doing anything with his wife and four children.

Director of Outreach, Heather Wallace

Heather grew up in Pennsylvania and became a Christian in Middle School.  She went to Nyack College where she met her husband, Shawn.  They have been married since 1996 and have 4 children.  She has always loved being in ministry alongside Shawn, but in 2019 decided that since the kids were all older she wanted to pursue an official ministry position.  Because she loves sharing Christ and leading others into the freedom, healing, and joy that comes from knowing Jesus she is excited to be in this position of leading others into outreach and service opportunities at WIC, in the surrounding communities, and abroad. Outside of church Heather loves traveling, writing, playing tourist, and spending time with her family.
