Pastor David Farnum was about to enter college when he realized he could no longer take his faith casually and committed himself to follow Jesus Christ wholeheartedly. He met his wife, Nancy, while they were working at a Christian summer camp. After graduating from Alliance Theological Seminary, David pastored churches in settings that range from rural villages to state capitals. He taught English at public universities in Vietnam for over eight years before coming to WIC in 2013. During their time in Southeast Asia, David and Nancy provided pastoral care to teachers in Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos, and mentored recent college graduates who had come to Hanoi to teach. Nancy has taught in an ESL program for immigrant Muslim women, tutored EFL in Vietnam, and trained and led a team of volunteer teachers on a short-term EFL trip to Gjilan, Kosovo. They have two married daughters. In his free time, David enjoys the outdoors, woodworking, beekeeping, and building small boats.
